Clue covers both general and technical language. This is a dictionary for everyone. Use it at work, at school, at home, or on vacation.

Choose one of the monolingual dictionaries for definitions and explanations. It will make it easier to decide which word to be used in a certain context.
Search
Clue starts searching as soon as you type a letter in the search field, and the word is often found before you have finished entering it.
There are two ways to empty the search field:
- Click the x to the right of the search field.
- Press Esc.
Switch between languages
You can navigate to the next dictionary using Tab, or to the previous dictionary using Shift+Tab. You can also choose the dictionary you want to go to from the drop-down menu.
Customise Clue
Select Clue, Options and Fonts to change the way Clue appears on your screen. You can also change the background and font colour by selecting Clue, Options and Colours. Point and drag the Clue window to change the size.
Always on top
You can ensure that Clue is always the top screen, regardless of what program you are working in. Select Options and highlight Always on top.
Quick copy
You can copy one or more words from Clue into your document. Select Options and highlight Quick Copy. Then click on one word or highlight several words in Clue. They are now automatically copied to the clipboard and can be pasted directly into a document using Cmd+V.
Missing words
If you cannot find the word you are looking for in Clue, we provide help by suggesting a translation. Select Help in the toolbar and highlight Missing words. You can now send an e-mail directly to our editor.
To install Clue for Mac you need an Intel-based Mac with OSX 10.5 (Leopard) or higher and 400 MB available disk space.
• Download the software.
• Drag the Clue icon to your Applications folder.
• Eject the Clue disk.
• Open the Applications folder and double-click Clue.
• Enter licence "info" (or click ”Demo”).
